Verification of microbiological test methods, as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Standard requirements.

28/08/2020

Speaker: MSc. Anastacio Palacios Marmolejo and BSCh. Rocío Candelaria Vargas Daniel, Laboratorio Estatal de Salud Pública of Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Live streaming: August 28, 2020, from 12:00 to 13:30 h, at INFAL’s virtual classroom (UTC-2 / Etc/GMT+2).

Language: Spanish (no translation to other languages).

Modality:  Transmission with “live” audio and video followed by questions (via written “chat”) and answers (via audio and video) from the speakers. The entire course is recorded and will be available for later playback on the distance-learning portal of the INFAL.

Content: The verification process of a microbiological method is mainly aimed at demonstrating the compliance of the analytical performance and that results are yield according to a standardized test method under the conditions of each laboratory, including infrastructure and the analytical capacity of the staff.
In order to verify a method, it is necessary to identify the analyte to be measured, establish a verification protocol, develop the method under the process conditions of  the laboratory, analyze the results by determining the statistical parameters showing method compliance, either qualitative (detection limit, verification of sensitivity and specificity) or quantitative (repeatability, reproducibility, bias,  recovery and uncertainty), and make a method verification report describing, in detail, the traceability of the analytical process at each stage, as well as an analysis and conclusion of the results showing method compliance to test the analyte in question.
The course will be divided into: Introduction, Regulatory and/or Referential Framework, Implementation of verification protocols for microbiological test methods: qualitative, semi-quantitative and quantitative, and Conclusions.

Certificate of attendance: Each participant must meet the following requirements in order to download the certificate in pdf format: 1) Complete the evaluation survey, and 2) Attend (at least once) the full recorded version of the course.
