Content:One of the most important strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance is the implementation of an integrated surveillance system that includes the human, animal and environmental sector “One health”. PAHO, in collaboration with FAO and the OIE, through the tripartite alliance are promoting and strengthening antimicrobial resistance surveillance systems in the countries of the Americas in line with the progress made in the health sector. The fundamental pillars for an integrated surveillance in the animal origin food production chain will be discussed in this presentation.
