The INFAL is composed of national official laboratories designated to control and monitor the quality and safety of food in the region of the Americas. The incorporation of the country into the INFAL is voluntary and upon prior acceptance, the laboratory or organization commits to the tasks of the action plan defined in the Assembly. This action plan includes a series of trainings, seminars and other activities that are agreed by the member laboratories of the INFAL and later implemented in an integrated manner among themselves. The ex -officio secretariat facilitates interaction between laboratories and the development of work.

Who can be part of the INFAL?

Laboratories that fulfill the INFAL statute’s requirements can become direct members of the INFAL. Food analysis laboratories from national laboratory networks and decentralized offices can also become members of the INFAL.
The member laboratories can participate in the webinars, technical groups, online chats, technical fora and other activities.
