Speaker: Prof. Armando E. Hoet, DVM, PhD, DACVPM.
Live transmission: 25th July 2019
Time: 13:00 – 14:00h

Content: The seminar presents the latest research in RAM in the food chain and the role of food analysis laboratories for the detection of resistant strains. Food is another vector of transmission of resistant strains along the agri-food chain. It is estimated that 1 in 5 infections in humans are caused by bacteria resistant to antibiotics, coming from farm animals or foods of animal origin. Hence the importance of implementing an integrated surveillance including the human, animal and food sector. Within ARM national programs, the laboratories are key in the monitoring and control of resistant microorganisms. They play a crucial role in sampling, processing, analysis and reporting.
Certificate: Each participant must meet the following requirements to download the certificate in pdf format: 1) Complete the evaluation survey and 2) Attend (at least 1 time) the full recorded version of the course.
